Maria is responsible for managing sampling, survey and test administration, data entry capture, data production for all of NFER’s survey, data collection and test development trials. This work has incorporated a range of data collections varying in scale and numerous surveys and test development trials. In addition to managing the work carried out for colleagues within the NFER, she is also responsible for all of the projects that Research Operations undertakes for external sponsors. She has directed a range of large scale projects, including the national data collections of years 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 optional tests, the secondary school curriculum and staffing survey for DCSF and the pre-testing of national curriculum mathematics tests. She oversees the delivery of NFER’s suite of products and services for schools. Maria established and directs the NFER’s Teacher Voice and Pupil and Parent Voice omnibus surveys and the NFER’s Attitude Survey Service for schools. Before joining NFER Maria worked for QCA’s former mathematics test development team and prior to that she was a primary school teacher.
