Before joining the NFER, Ruth worked for another independent research organisation and as a teacher of English (as a Foreign Language) and Basic Skills (Literacy). She has taught in the UK and abroad (in Thailand and Spain) working over this time with a range of vulnerable adults including refugees, asylum seekers, and people with specific learning difficulties and/or very low levels of basic skills.
