Ruth is a Research Officer in the Research, Evaluation and Information Department (Northern Office) and is involved in evaluation and research projects for various sponsors including the Children’s Workforce Development Council, East Midlands Development Agency, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the Local Government Association.
Prior experience and professional background
Research Assistant / Researcher / Senior Researcher at Third Sector First (2003-2008).
Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in England, Thailand and Spain (1997-2002).
Main research interests
Vulnerable children and adults, migration, disadvantage, and children’s services. Science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) education.
Other research interests
Alternative education (including education otherwise than at school), basic skills (in particular literacy), and post-compulsory education.
