Why use Teacher Voice?
The Teacher Voice survey is completed by a panel of over one thousand practising teachers in England. The panel includes teachers from the full range of roles in primary and secondary schools, from headteachers to newly qualified class teachers. The coverage of teachers by role in schools is comparable with population of teachers in England by phase of education. The achieved sample in each round includes teachers from a good spread of schools by school level factors including geographical region, school type and eligibility for free school meals. Sample weighting is also applied to ensure that the schools represented by our respondents are statistically representative of schools nationally by key factors. Clients can be assured that our omnibus results are based on a sample that is representative of teachers nationally and provides a robust analysis of teachers’ views.
The survey suits questions that are meaningful to the broad teacher workforce. It can be used to help find out about:
-
Views about current educational issues
-
Knowledge of new initiatives
-
Understanding of issues or developments
-
Awareness of organisations
-
Current classroom practice
Routing can be used to ask questions of subgroups of the sample, where appropriate, for example to ask a question that is only relevant for primary teachers.
Please note that the survey is not intended for those wishing to undertake market research for a specific commercial product or service.
